It is the philosophy of The Methodist Preschool that early childhood should be a time of fun, warmth, security, exploration and discovery. The staff encourages creativity and individuality through our developmentally appropriate curriculum.
The preschool's purpose is to provide an atmosphere which encourages social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth and development of the child, while maintaining Christian values.
The Methodist Preschool's curriculum includes: sharing and conversation time, stories, songs and finger plays, creative art activities, games and large muscle activities, field trips, community resource people, food preparation, science and nature activities, and exposure to shapes, colors, numbers and letters, and the celebration of birthdays and holidays. Children go outside for a recess as much as possible. In case of bad weather, equipment can be set up in the gym for a variety of activites.
A supplemental Music & Movement program is offered to all of the children and includes seasonal and theme-related songs, creative movement and musical instruments.
A child must be 2.9 years old, 3 years old or 4 years old in order to enter our preschool program.
Openings in classes are filled on a first come, first served basis on the date of registration. After the classes are filled, the child's name will be put on a waiting list.
Preschool time is from 9:00AM-12:00PM. An Early Drop-off time is available at 8:30AM. A Lunch time (12:00PM-12:45PM) or After School Enrichment Program (12:00PM-2:30PM) is also available. Choose from 5, 3 or 2 days- create a schedule that works for you and your family.
The preschool year begins in September and ends in June. A calendar with the days scheduled for the preschool year will be issued.
The preschool follows the Westborough Public School schedule for snow days and delays. The preschool closing policy and a list of local cable, TV and radio stations, which announce Westborough Public School closings, will be provided in "The Parent Handbook".
Registration will begin in the fall for the following school year.
Registration forms may be obtained at the preschool. Information may also be obtained by calling the preschool and/or scheduling a tour.
A non – refundable fee of $125.00 must accompany the completed registration form and be returned to:

There is an annual fee for tuition. It may be paid in full or in ten monthly installments due the first of each month. The first tuition payment is due by June 1st and will be applied to the last month of preschool. Tuition payments will then resume beginning in September and ending in May. Please contact the preschool for tuition rates and fees.
A yearly physical examination including a record of up-to-date immunizations and lead testing is required prior to enrollment. Additional health information and parent information is available in "The Parent Handbook".
Children are encouraged to wear simple play clothes and sneakers or shoes with rubber soles. This is especially important on days that the children will be participating in activities in the big room. The children are expected to be dressed appropriately for the weather, as we go outside for various activities.
Parents are expected to provide a complete change of clothing in their child's backpack.
The Methodist Preschool will not discriminate when providing services to children and their families on the basis of race, sexual orientation, religion, cultural heritage, political belief, marital status or disability.
Parent/Teacher conferences will be offered twice a year and may be requested at any time during the preschool year.
Parents are encouraged to present ideas to benefit their child or the preschool's program. This can be done verbally, in writing or at a scheduled parent's meeting.
The Methodist Preschool provides snacks for the children. The children may bring special treats for their birthday or any time of the preschool year. Parents are asked to check with the teachers in advance as there may be food allergies to consider. The Methodist Preschool is NUT-FREE.
