First UMC is blessed to have a variety of ministries to match the skills of our congregation with the opportunities to serve in our community and beyond. Here's a small set of our active ministries. Connections Mentoring Program Do you find yourself worrying about something and wishing you had someone to talk to who has been through it before? Or, are you often thought of as a go-to person for something either within or outside your spiritual life and have a willingness to share that knowledge with members of our congregation? Sign up and get Connected! The Connections Ministry is focused on tapping into the talent, experiences, wisdom and Christian love of our church membership and using those special gifts God has given us to serve others within our congregation. This ministry is about bringing people together to help one another by leveraging the unique set of life experiences and special things that make us who we are. To indicate your interest in Connections, please complete a Mentor and/or Mentee form and return these to the church office.
Meals for those at times of life changing events - the birth of a child, the death of a family member - prepared a delivered with care from your church family. Appalachia Service Project (ASP) A ministry of home repair to those in the Appalachia region. Prayer Shawls A knitting ministry to create and deliver prayer shawls to those in need. Afterglow A social group for those in our congregation with more than 50 years of life experience.
